Favourite Eats (Weight Watchers Edition)

A few of my current favourite eats, all Weight Watchers friendly and therefore I've Pointed them all too.

Warburton's Sandwich Thins (3 ProPoints)

My friend introduced to me these and they are a godsend! They're 100 calories each, they come pre-sliced in a pack of 6 (I usually freeze half the pack straight away) and they make a wonderful substitute for bready things. I've started using them for open sandwiches; my Italian Chicken Melt is my new favourite -  I toast them, rub with a garlic clove and top with cherry tomatoes, red onion, grilled chicken, fresh basil and a WW cheese slice (which totals out at 7 ProPoints for the lot).

Quorn Fillets (1 ProPoint)

I'm sure I've said how much I love the Quorn Sticky BBQ fillets before, but for 4 in a pack they're a little pricey. I've taken to buying bags of the plain fillets (recently on a 2 for £3 offer in Waitrose) and adding my own sauces. The one from this chicken recipe works really well, as does shop-bought Peking Lemon sauce.

Cadbury Philadephia Mini Pots (2 ProPoints)

I hate the concept of this stuff, in fact it still sounds a bit wrong but it tastes SO GOOD and for 2 Points per pot it's a lovely little treat. How do I indulge? I dip breadsticks and fruit into it for an afternoon snack.

Popchips (3 ProPoints) - review coming soon!

The Bury Black Pudding Co. Black Pudding Slices (2 ProPoints)

You can take a girl out of Yorkshire but you can't take her Northern eating habits away. Love black pudding and this in the nicest one that I've found. 4 pieces in a pack, I tend to eat them one by one (so they live in the freezer), last week I made my stove-top roasties and served them with a piece of pudding and a poached egg. Poshest egg and chips dinner ever (and a 9 ProPoint meal).

Rhubarb (0 ProPoints)

It's in season and it's only a few pounds for a huge bunch. Stew it in 40mls of water and sugar and add it to porridge, or my favourite, soya yoghurt and oatbran.

Wonderful Almonds (25g 4 ProPoints)

I am seriously addicted to these, in fact I've not only got myself hooked on them, I've now got my office colleague hooked on them too. We used to have an office biscuit tin, now the office almond stash is far more popular! Wonderful make salt and pepper pistachios too - which are incredible!

  1. Will try the Quorn sticky BBQ fillets on your recommendation. Be great for stir fries.
I also LOVE almonds. They're so good for you and filling too.
How do you get your poached egg so perfect looking?

    1. I've had the question about poached eggs SO MANY TIMES on Twitter over the last few weeks that I should be on commission for this product. Poach pods: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Fusion-Brands-Poachpod-Two-Pack-Silicone/dp/B000P6FD3I
