I'm a Healthy Hero!

Last month I went for a styled photoshoot courtesy of Healthy Magazine, which I told you all about in this post.

This was all due to me being selected as one of their Healthy Heroes; a feature that has been published on the back page of every edition of the magazine over the last 12 months. It's been a lengthy process, as they originally contacted me back in January of this year but finally my interview and photos have appeared in the new edition (Jan/Feb 2013)!

Davina on the front, me in the back!

It's a bit strange seeing photos of myself in a magazine, it's a bit like walking past the big televisions in Dixon's and seeing yourself flash up!

It's me, it's me, it's really me!
The article is very strange for me to read as well, as it covers my story, weight loss and venture into a whole new lifestyle into such a concise format (I actually forgot that I'd trained to be a Zumba instructor last year-  this is what happens when you change careers and never use it!). It was a lovely interview and it prepared me for my next one (which will be in another issue of Healthy Magazine in 2013 accompanying the photo shoot).

Reading it back was quite empowering too. It's nice to be reminded of all the work I've done and the positive changes that I've made to my life in order to get to this point. In a way, I'm glad I'm their last Healthy Hero, as reading my story at this time of year is perfect; it inspires me to keep going, not lose my healthy focus over Christmas and just enjoy everything in life within moderation.

It's also wonderful to think that someone could pick up that magazine, see that interview and be inspired to make a change to their lives for the better.

If you want to read my interview in full, you can purchase Healthy Magazine from branches of Holland & Barrett.

EDIT: You can read the full article here.
